According to the 2019 State of Women-Owned Businesses Report, commissioned by American Express, between 2014 and 2019, the number of women-owned businesses climbed 21% to a total of nearly 13 million. In fact, four out of ten businesses in the U.S. (40%) are women-owned.


Centon Electronics has been certified since 2014 as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and is certified through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). This third-party validation gives Centon Electronics the opportunity to pass along the benefits of working with a WBENC-Certified company to our customers while supporting supplier diversity in business.

WBENC’s mission

Is to, “fuel economic growth globally by identifying, certifying, and facilitating the development of women-owned businesses.” WBENC believes, “diversity promotes innovation, opens doors, and creates partnerships that fuel the economy.” As the largest certifier of women-owned businesses in the U.S. and a leading advocate for women business owners and entrepreneurs, WBENC certification is a rigorous process that validates that a business is 51 percent owned, controlled, operated, and managed by a woman or women. When companies partner with a WBENC-Certified company they may gain benefits such as tax incentives and the ability to exhibit their commitment to advancing diverse markets.


WBENC certification is nationally recognized and required by thousands of major U.S. corporations and government organizations because they have found that fostering diversity in the world of commerce is good for everyone involved.
